August 4, 2000 ~ Moving

We will be moving to the dorm we will be living in for the rest of the year this weekend. Well, make that this Sunday. I wish the school would give us more time for these things. They have said that we may not begin moving until ten o'clock a.m. on Sunday, and they want us to be out that night, because they are cleaning and painting the dorm that we are moving out of on Monday morning.

I can't tell you how thrilled I am at the prospect of moving all of my books and furniture all in one day. The way that Warren Wilson is laid out is much more like a summer camp, than a college. Many of the buildings are connected by trails, rather than roads. It is also very hilly, so there is a lot of ups and downs. We are moving about a five-minute-walk away. Some of the stuff will be taken by car, but the big heavy stuff will have to be carried the whole way, because our trunk is not big enough. When we get there, there are three flights of stairs to go up to get to our room, too.

I am not looking forward to the fatigue and sore muscles. *sigh*

We are going to pack all day tomorrow, so that we will be completely ready by Sunday. Here's hoping my arms don't fall off!
