January 3, 2001 ~ Parting Angst
The MFA residency starts tonight. I'm really quite excited about it.
To explain, there is a graduate program here at Warren Wilson for an MFA degree in Creative Writing. I am taking a program that allows undergraduate students to sit in on the readings, lectures, and a few classes to improve our own writing and to get a feel of the program.
Morgan and I aren't used to seeing each other so little. During the semester when classes are in session, we're only apart for a few hours at a time here and there. With him working full time, however, he's gone all day and I only get to see him at lunch and in the evenings. I cherish those evenings.
The only thing I regret about the MFA program is that it is going to make the time I can spend with him even more sparse. You see, I will have classes and readings from 6 until late, probably around ten. The only times I will see him will be lunch, briefly at dinner, and then for a few minutes before I pass out from exhaustion at night.
*sigh*
At dinner he was talking about not wanting to be alone this evening. I asked him to come with me to the reading, then, but he didn't want to do that either. Hrmph.
