Notify List Special ~ Extra Pictures from June 3rd
Alright, the most requests were for pictures of "a hike" or "a place you usually hike." Or, from one ambitious individual "all of the places you hike" *laugh* I tried my best, but one can only hike so far in a few hours. ;-)
Anyway, I covered that request as well as I could in the entry. The second most requested subject was Morgan and me. I had a few in the entry, but here are some more (you already saw the first one in the entry, of course):
Unfortunately, I could not get any of Morgan and me together, since Li wasn't home all night (save for a few minutes right when I got home and then she snuck out while I was in the bathroom. Curses!), and the camera didn't seem to have a timer setting.
So, Li wasn't around to be photographed, but she gave me a few pictures to post:
And, now, the rats. Introducing Fenton and Napoleon:
Because of the low light and their tendency to move, a lot of these came out really blurry, but we got a few good shots. Napoleon is the smaller, dark brown one with the white belly, and Fenton is the larger, bumbley, one who's mostly white with a dark brown hood and spot on his back. Fenton is clumsy, extremely friendly, and very loving. Napoleon is often hyper and sometimes quite the scaredy-rat (but loving too). They were out at several points during my day of pictures, but I've mentioned before that they are technically against our lease so I don't talk about them on the site just in case of a curious landlord.)
Napoleon being curious, while Fenton tends to an itch:
Portrait of Napoleon:
Portrait of Fenton (licking and grooming me as I give him scratchins, of course. One of our friends had nick-named Ali, one of our previous rats, "the lickinest beastie", but the title has now been passed on to Fenton):
Fenton and Napoleon have a few favorite pastimes. They love play-fighting together when they're hyper, or grooming each other when they're mellow:
When they're tired, they sleep curled up together in a little ball of cute furriness.
One last picture of them. Morgan had made a scary noise, and so Napoleon dove for cover behind Fenton, who then placed his paw over Napoleon's shoulder protectively:
Two of you requested to see the backyard and backfield. So, a tour of my backyard and field.
All right, from the front of the house:
Walk down the right side (there's the big fir in the back yard):
When you reach the back corner of the house, this is what you will see to the right:
Then turn the corner to the left, and there's our backyard:
Now, go down to the back of the backyard, which ends just beyond the fir tree, and turn around, and you will see the back of the house, like so:
Now, to see the backfield. Standing at the back of the backyard, look left over the field and this is what you'll see:
And center (the ditch along the center in between the grassy field and the farmer's plot behind it is where the morning glories from this entry grow):
And right:
Now, if you walk down and stand under the two trees in the center of the picture looking over the field to the left, then look across the field with the farmer's plot to your left, here is what you see:
Then walk to the other end and look back where you came from:
Lining the field are several birdhouses, on posts, hanging from trees, and such. Here are two of them:
And, on to a few random requests.
Pictures of our bedroom.
Looking right from the door, there's the bed. The top blanket alternates. Right now it's one of Morgan's "wolf rugs." It is also often the quilt that my mother made for me a long time ago (featured in the house tour, when the bedroom was arranged differently). The nightstand has a lamp, some candles, a water glass, alarm clock, and underneath a bunch of what we like to call "candy books" (light reading). In the background you can see the two dressers; the left one has the rat cage on top of it (which you can see half of):
Looking at the other side of the room, there's Vulture's desk (kinda cluttered) and the rest is pretty self-explanatory:
Pictures of the insides of our pantry and fridge.
Outside of the fridge:
With magnetic poetry, featuring enlightened and lofty verse, such as:
y'er wanted
like a kinky snowflake
and:
after about a day
run her over.
use my lawnmower.
Now, the food, of course, isn't all ours, some of it is Li's. But here's what our food looked like last week:
The bottom three pantry shelves (Lowest, teas. Upper two, canned goods):
Top three pantry shelves (Lowest: nuts, seeds, toppings, etc. Middle: pastas, rices. Top: baking goods.):
Didn't take a picture of the spice shelves (yes, that's plural) or the root bin (potatoes, onions, garlic, etc.).
The harddrive windchimes (this entry):
The new tire swing (from this entry):
And that's it. Thanks for all the requests, everyone.
