December 20, 2004 ~ New House
Monday.
sunrise (but looking South) at the new house, Sunday morning
We're moved.
I'm sorry, that didn't sound very enthusiastic. We're moved!
Of course the first sticking snow of the winter would come when we had to back a twenty-foot moving truck down a steep one-lane dirt road, at night, and then drive it all the way to the other side of town on roads that bore a strong resemblance to a skating rink.
Of course I'd throw out my back worse than I ever have before, and not when moving any of the really heavy stuff. Oh no, I'd go and throw it out simply bending over, later. And thoroughly frustrate myself since now I can't do anything when there's everything to do.
But we're moved! Into our little house in the woods. And the forsythia out front has premature yellow blooms all over it, now covered in snow. Many thanks to our friends Sloan and especially Joel. Without their help we'd not be here.
(And now it's back to unpacking for me...)
