Wednesday.

Monty has been healing nicely, aside from an abscess that came up on his paw when the vet took him off the antibiotics too early (requiring yet another emergency trip to the vet). The places where the main gash was sewn together have almost completely healed, and the rest is quickly filling in with scar tissue. He's on another round of antibiotics to see what we can do about that abscess. He still limps pretty badly, and we (and the vet) fear that the limp will probably be permanent.

The internet connection hardly ever works, and the cable company is trying to blame that on us and charging us extra in fees. Joy. We won't have an internet connection at all, if that keeps up, because we can't afford it.

Morgan about went mad, spending hours and hours alone over at the empty old house cleaning and touching up and making repairs, but it was worth it, because we got our $650 security deposit back. With that, we were able to barely squeak by this month (though we did have to do a few things on credit, which is now maxed out). Without that deposit, though, we'd have sunk this month, so we're feeling pretty grateful.

The long work hours, the lack of time for hiking, the lack of sunlight, the lack of sleep, the worry over Monty, my diet that has gone to hell (ugh, junk food), the work stress and obligations, the dirty and not entirely unpacked house, the lack of time with Morgan--it is all starting to get to me. And since I have not been putting entries up, and haven't had the internet connection to write emails or the time to make phone calls, I've had little contact with my normal web of support. (This journal is my main contact with family and friends).

Thankfully, though, I've not been getting too depressed. (I'm too exhausted to be depressed. Heh.) I can see the potential for a very happy life, once we get over this hump. I like the new house, I like being able to walk five minutes to work, and I love these two dogs. Things will settle soon. Friday, two days from now, all of the Residency will be over and I will finally have a weekend off. Finally. Finally.
