Friday.

I have a couple hike pictures that I'm going to share, but first, the garden. Remember, we started with weeds and rye grass knee-high:

After much hoeing by hand on the 13th and 14th, we finally had the plot cleared. Morgan formed the soil into three raised beds:

We let it sit for the week. Then on the 20th, we worked a bunch of compost into the soil, and covered with mulch:

And on Sunday, we planted seeds and watered:

And of course we've been watering every dry evening since. The closest bed there has green beans, the middle bed has a few varieties of lettuce, carrots, and beets, and the far bed has herbs. Scattered throughout are marigolds and zinnias. We'll be picking up some tomato and pepper seedlings from the farmer's market soon.
There's one corner of the garden that won't have anything planted at all. We left it for Grove, so that he could have somewhere to dig without getting in trouble.
